Volunteer opportunity description

Main responsibilities

Volunteer Admin Assistants will be responsible for:

Answering the telephone to our carers  

Taking and recording messages.

Data entry and updating of the organisations database management system

Routine filing and copying

Assisting with small and larger mailing outs

Skills and Knowledge

No formal training is required however the following skills would be an advantage:

An organised and systematic approach

Good customer service skills

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Confident and articulate communication skills; able to communicate effectively face-to-face, via telephone and email, with people at all levels

Good written and spoken English

Swindon Carers Centre will offer all volunteers

Due to the nature of this role applicants will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Application or supply the organisation with relevant information for the DBS Update Service. 

A minimum of two references will be required at the time of application.
